## TL;DR

## The Chinese-language surface is not ChatGPT

In Hong Kong, ChatGPT is geofenced out. The assistants your Chinese-speaking prospects actually open are Gemini, Perplexity, DeepSeek, and Qwen. DeepSeek and Qwen together carry most Chinese-language AI usage, yet most AI-visibility tooling still measures them as afterthoughts or not at all. If your practice is invisible in their answers, no amount of English optimisation will fix it.

## Why DeepSeek and Qwen are different

DeepSeek publishes no user-agent at all, so robots.txt cannot govern it. Its answers are drawn from a broad data corpus, not a single crawled web. The practical effect: traditional directory and review signals still matter, but schema.org markup and entity consistency are more important than crawl access.
Qwen (通義千問) is Alibaba’s model. It draws on Chinese-language sources heavily, including Chinese business directories, review platforms, and Baidu-adjacent ecosystems. A Hong Kong practice that is not listed in Chinese directories is less likely to appear in Qwen answers than in ChatGPT answers.

## What optimisation looks like for these two models

Chinese directories and review platforms — listings that Qwen and DeepSeek index differently from Western search. The audit identifies which ones your practice is missing.
Entity consistency — the same practice name, address, and phone number across every directory, in Chinese and English forms. Entity resolution is how these models decide two mentions are the same business.
Structured data in both languages — JSON-LD markup on your own pages, not just English, so the model sees the information when it consults your site in Chinese.
Source signals the model actually reads — the audit cross-references directories, reviews, and press sources against the citations each model returns for your practice questions.

## What the audit delivers

Per-market share of AI recommendations for each model, separately for the Hong Kong surface and the overseas/inbound surface.
A model-specific fix list: what to add, correct, or restructure for DeepSeek and Qwen specifically.
Before/after reporting so you can measure movement.
